Who’s behind this site?

Hi, I’m André Boudreau, a resident of Antigonish with a long-standing interest in how our community operates, especially around public budgets and local decision-making. What started as a personal project to better understand the Town and County budgets has grown into this site: a place to share that information in a clear, accessible, and visually engaging way.

This initiative is self-funded, with no outside donations, grants, or compensation.

Where does the information come from?

The data featured here comes from a wide range of public and community sources. For budget information, I rely on materials from the Town and County as well the staff that work there.

For election-related content, I’ve drawn from local government sites, the chamber of commerce, 989 XFM, and direct submissions from candidates. Additional resources include visitantigonish.ca, antigonishdoctors.ca, antigonish.ca, antigonishcounty.ca, townofantigonish.ca, recreation.antigonishcounty.ca, mysporthub.ca, and letstalkantigonish.substack.com.

Why share this?

I believe in keeping residents informed, engaged, and empowered all year round. Alongside archived coverage of the 2024 municipal election and a Q&A with municipal candidates, the site includes:

- An issue reporting page for submitting repair and service requests to assist the Town and County.

- A holistic overview of Antigonish’s active transportation network, highlighting trails, walking routes, and sustainable mobility options.

- Historical and current municipal budgets, presented through clear, interactive charts.

My aim is to make civic information more accessible, so whether you’re looking to better understand how public funds are spent, report a pothole, explore local governance, or simply trying to find a bike path, I hope this site helps you.
